RLD – Reflexology Lymph Drainage is an award winning reflexology technique which focuses stimulating the reflexes on the feet, to cause an effect on the lymphatic systeme in the body.
This unique sequence has been researched and developed by Sally Kay – renowned Reflexologist in the UK – whilst working in Cancer Care.
The results appear to support the theory of reflexology.
In Switzerland every year approximately 5900 new cases of Brest Cancer (carcinome mammaire) of women and 40 of men are registered. Brest cancer is there for the most common cancer in the female population: it represents almost 30% of all diagnoses of cancer for women. Allthough the risk grows significantly after the age of 50, the disease touches also young women; 20% of the women does not have reached the age of 50 when diagnosed.
Lymphoedema is defined as a connective tissu swelling in a part of the body more or less important, due to failure of lymph drainage. After brest cancer, a person may experience psychological or emotional difficulties due to altered body image, and a swollen limb can intensify this.
RLD may be used especially for Brest Cancer and Lymphoedema.
Lymphatic drainage massage is used to treat other conditions and RLD may be used similarly also for those pathologies.
